Community Rituals

Trisha Montreal choirs’ have created and participated in many community rituals. The purpose of ritual is to help us to understand and remember our purpose on earth and be witnessed by a community that supports us on our journey.

Examples of Rituals:
The Rock Ritual was a response to trauma in the greater community: a shooting rampage and death in the cafeteria of a local college. Planting a Seed to celebrate springtime and new possibilities and Sound Tunnels to welcome our audiences to the space. We created a Healing Circle with group chanting for cancer patients and survivors and their families. We celebrated the Divine Feminine and the Naming of Mothers and Grandmothers in another ritual. Within the choir we held space for trauma and mourning in the lives and deaths of members. We celebrated a Marriage. We invoked nature forms such as mountains, trees, flowers and animals and then sang for them. We practiced letting go and surrendering the old to make space for the new in a Fire ritual.
